The two super-problems facing science

For the period since the mastering of fire and the development of the first tool till today, a miracles of heroism have been done at the scientific and technological front – the man has peered into the secrets of matter and into the depths of the Universe, he controls the nuclear power, and creates computers, etc.
Only (strangely) there is no visible progress in the TWO, maybe, most important problems: to explore the essence of the World as a whole (the objective reality), and to explore the essence of self-consciousness, psyche, soul (subjective reality).
In both cases, science either simply is silent or proudly states that these are not scientific questions, and rarely, when it comes to be concerned, it, in a palliative way, justifies itself by the extreme complexity of the problem.
Indeed, we are working hard on creating a Unified Theory of Everything – there is a Standard Model (in physics), there are a variety of cosmological theories ... but they do not solve the problem in essence. It seems that knowledge develops in arithmetical progression, but the unknown – in geometrical progression (the circle of knowledge).
This "complexity" can also be related to the second major question – about the nature and essence of self-consciousness, the inner, the spiritual world, the world of personality. Even if there has been significant progress in unraveling the secrets of genome, neurons, synapses, artificial intelligence, and so on, the problem in its deepest essence has not been shifted not one jot.
P.S. The induction method, widely used in science, cannot guarantee a final, complete result, for it is unable to define the "end" of the induction. The only thing left is to hope that by gradually climbing the top of knowledge, it will unexpectedly "surrender" to our will and tenacity.
